Dear Colleagues,
Please join me in congratulating Isabella Marques De Castilla, our newest
recipient of the ARLIS DC-MD-VA Diversity Student Travel Award, .
Isabella is currently an MLS student at the Catholic University of America
in D.C. She works in the Library of Congress Arts Team of the Arts and
Sciences Cataloguing Division where she catalogues exclusively German
monographs. Isabella is also secretary of the Library of Congress
Professional Association and a member of the Hispanic Cultural Society of
the Library of Congress. The DC-MD-VA chapter is happy to welcome Isabella
into our midst, and we hope that all our ARLIS colleagues will get a chance
to greet her at Houston.
The Diversity Award was established by the ARLIS DC-MD-VA chapter three
years ago in order to provide travel funds for a library school student
from an underrepresented group to attend the ARLIS/NA conference. This
year the award includes membership in ARLIS/NA and the chapter, conference
registration for Houston, and $250.00 towards travel to the conference.
Yours,
Lucie Wall Stylianopoulos
