Le Brun Library
The Le Brun Library, a unique resource within the Montclair Art Museum, is one of New Jersey's important reference libraries in the field of American Art. Founded in 1916, the library recently moved its extensive holdings into specially designed space in the newly refurbished museum building. The library maintains a strict non-circulation policy for most materials.
Hours: BY SPECIAL, ADVANCE APPOINTMENT ONLY UNTIL JANUARY 5TH 2005.
Location: 3rd Floor of the Museum, which is located on the southeast corner of South Mountain and Bloomfield Avenues in Montclair, NJ.

Services: · Research assistance to visitors
· Referral to appropriate additional resources (e.g., museums, appraisers, restoration experts)
· Slide loans
· Photocopying: $0.15 per page (depending on size). Permission to copy older and fragile materials is granted on a case-by-case basis and library personnel must make the copies.
Collections: Focus on American and Native American art. Access to materials is provided through an online catalog, card catalogs, indexes and library staff assistance
Books: More than 39,000 volumes of monographs, catalog raisonnes, dictionaries, indexes, exhibition and auction catalogs
Periodicals: Art magazines, scholarly journals, museum bulletins and annual reports
Special Collections: Montclair Art Museum historical scrapbooks; more than 7,000 unique bookplates fully cataloged
Vertical Files: An extensive collection of artists' files comprising of news clippings, pamphlets, and other material
Auction catalogs: Sale catalogs from Sotheby's, Christy's, Phillips New York and Swann Photographic Literature & Photographs
