Margaret, Kerri, et al --
Kerri has analyzed the situation correctly. When the MoMA files note was added which gave the birthdate information, the cataloger could (should) have split off the performance artist from the writer on oil and gas supply.
As a NACO participant, I have now disambiguated the Kim Joneses and created a new record for the performance artist. LC's catalog has one bib record for another Kim Jones, a female singer based in Denver. For the moment, I'm not going there.
