is pleased to announce a
ONE-DAY WORKSHOP
HOW TO MAKE AN ARTISTS' BOOK
Saturday, July 17, 2004
(9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Come and join Andrew Binder* (local bookmaker, artist, and educator)
and use the exciting world of laptop computers, digital cameras, inkjet
printers, and digital copy machines to create altered and just in time
imagery that will be used in a collaboration between the students and
the instructor in a project that he calls his day book series. Iinvited
guest artists, (in this case the students) collaborate, creating every
other page, bouncing off each other to produce pages for a the entire
day. At the end of the day, the work culminates with a demonstration of
the Japanese bookbinding technique, binding the pages produced in the
workshop. Additionally the book will be raffled off to a student to much
fanfare. (Laptops, digital cameras, scanners, and printer/copier to be
provided by the artist/instructor)
