Thanks Jet for your response to Judy Cohen's recent posting. I would also like to address another issue which Ms. Cohen raised - the issue of ARLIS/NA membership and ARLIS-L. Unlike other organizations which may limit access to listserves to MEMBERS ONLY, membership in ARLIS/NA is not required in order to access and monitor ARLIS-L. There are MANY non-members (both potential business and individual members) who actively participate in discussions and post various messages on our list. The Board has discussed whether to close the list to non-members several times in the past few years. The consensus reached each time indicates that keeping the list open to non-members is preferable.
