Dear ARLIS members,
I am composing a little Web page on the ironworker Samuel Yellin, who
attended the University of the Arts when it was the Pennsylvania Museum &
School of Industrial Art (PMSIA) and then taught here from 1907-19. In the
May 1926 newsletter of the PMSIA Alumni Association we learn that "Mr.
Samuel Yellin, a member of the Alumni Association, was awarded the Bok Prize
for the year 1925."
A quick Google reveals quite a number of Bok prizes, particularly at
Harvard, but I'm wondering if this was Mary Curtis Bok (later Mary Curtis
Bok Zimbalist), daughter of Cyrus Curtis of Curtis Publishing, since it's
Philadelphia. Any thoughts? Thanks very much.
Sara
