Dear colleagues,
Almost 500 people already signed the petition against the closing
of the Kunst- und Museumsbibliothek in Cologne. Thanks a lot to all
the people who took the time to do this!
The city council of Cologne postponed their decision about the future
of the KMB to the 3rd of June 2003. But at the press-conference by the
reader-support group of the library on the 20th of May, it became
clear that the plans of the government to dissolve the library are
still very much alive. So every token of support to underline the
importance of this library is still very usefull.
People who would like to sign the petition are still welcome to do so.
It was set up by the Art Libraries Society of Flanders/Belgium (OKBV).
By doing so, you support this renowned art library and send some
encouragement to the people working there. On-line petition:

The Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Kunst- und Museumsbibliotheken (AKMB) has
set up a German focus-webpage to give more information about the current
state of affairs: http://www.akmb.de/web/html/fokus/kmb.html
Please distribute this message.
Kind regards,
Beatrice De Clippeleir, chair of OKBV
