The Smithsonian American Art Museum is pleased to announce the publication
of the Spring 2003 issue of American Art, which is being mailed out to
subscribers this month. This issue of the museum's academic journal (vol.
17, no. 1) includes a special package of brief commentaries on African

American Art is a peer-reviewed periodical published three times per year,
in March, July and November. Articles may encompass any aspect of America's
visual heritage, including the fine arts, popular culture, photography and
electronic media, public art, architecture, and the decorative arts.
