In the Rare Book Department from February through May, 2003. The poems and
tales of Edgar Allen Poe, with their atmosphere of twilight and fear, have
brought Poe posthumous fame and a wide international readership. This
exhibition, from the Richard Gimbel Collection, shows work by the many visual
artists who have illustrated Poe’s works as well as memorabilia and original
manuscripts.
