Hello,
I have recently started at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center as the Resource Center Assistant. I am challeged with creating a plan to convert our slide library (permanet collection and our artist residency program Arts/Industry) to digital format. 90% of the time these images are accessed by interal staff only. We also now have a professional digital camera and plan to document all of our shows digitally rather than utilizing film.
I have worked in the Stock Photography industry and understand they way in which they have cataloged images, but because I do not have a library science degree I do not want to move forward until I get some more info.
So, after reading all that if you are still reading - if there are any resources I should utilize or if another small art library has created a digital slide library from scratch I would be greatful for any tips and comments.
thanks (please respond off list to the email address below)
