Special thanks to Cheryl Seigel, ARLIS/NW chair, for organizing a memorable
chapter meeting in Vancouver, Dec. 6-7, 2002.
The program included featured speaker Don Luxton, president of the Canadian
Art Deco Society, who spoke on Vancouver's 1930s public architecture.
Events also included a tour of the art and special collections of Vancouver
Public Library, a demonstration of VPL's digital photo collection, a
presentation on Simon Fraser University's experience with virtual reference,
and a guided tour of Vancouver Art Gallery's Tom Thomson exhibit.
Preliminary plans for the ARLIS/West Conference, Portland, Oregon, July
31-Aug.3, 2003, were presented at the business meeting.
Thanks again to Cheryl and her Vancouver colleagues!
Ed Teague
Chair-elect, ARLIS/Northwest Chapter
