Dear ARLIS-L Subscribers
Earlier this year I was researching public-art databases and found ARLIS-L
subscribers to be very helpful. Thank you!
I am now looking at products like those published by Gordon's Art Reference,
which produces books and CD-ROMs consisting primarily of information
on art prices derived from art auction results and other sources. Gordon's
also offers its information online.
I would like to solicit your opinion of Gordon's and its databases--do you
know and use them, are there similar sources that you use or prefer, are
these guides reliable, who uses them (individuals, dealers, libraries and
museums, artists), etc.? I am looking for both a general sense of this sort
of product and also for feedback on specific products.
I also would like similar information on the other companies that publish
this type of information, including those that offer web-based
products only.
Please contact me privately.
Thank you for your help.
