Hi:
I'm the new Art and Music librarian at the University of Northern
Iowa. My strength of expertise is in the music area. I'm weeding the Art
and Music Reference Collection and am wondering about the utility of
Bryan's Dictionary of Painters and Engravers Illustrated. A 5 volume set
published in 1904 by the MacMillan Co.
It seems to me that this has been superseded by a number of other
dictionaries and encyclopedias, not the least of which would be the
Grove
Dictionary of Art.
Can I safely weed it from the Reference Collection?
Thanks for your expertise,
Alan
