Your overview of the MARBI proposals mentioned the UK librarian who
said some folks wanted to put all copy-specific information in one
field and at least one respondent said they used separate fields.
Notes about artist book bindings also traverse this barrier. When I've
done a note about the physical characteristics of an artist book, it's
usually been in one note, e.g. [made-up example] Collage on handmade
paper, spiral-bound, with corrugated cardboard cover. When you start
combining types of information, 500 usually beats out more specific
MARC tags.
