The Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College has an opening for
the full-time position of Curatorial Archivist. Working under the
direction of the Center Librarian, the Curatorial Archivist will be
responsible for researching and organizing archival materials, including
manuscripts, correspondence, slides, photographs, and ephemera that
document the history of the public presentation of art since 1960. Other
responsibilities include processing collections, preparing the materials
for public accessibility, compiling bibliographies, identifying
preservation issues relevant to the archive, and other special projects
as needed. Some travel will be necessary. Candidates must be familiar
with art historical methods, exhibition and design planning issues, and
must be aware of cataloging and classification principles and practices.
Minimum BA, preferably MA, in art history or curatorial studies and 2
years of experience with contemporary art are required. Reading ability
in both French and German desirable. Applicants should send a letter
