I need to evaluate the value of several 19th century art publications.
Here at the University of Georgia we have kept a number of journals
in our restricted area to prevent potential theft of the illustrative
plates. I hope some of my ARLIS colleagues has had to deal with
this issue and is willing to share their wisdom. I need guidelines to
help me determine which volumes would be safe if I send that out to
the public stacks.
I am currently considering the transfer of the Gazette des Beaux
Arts from 1859 - 1964, L'art : Revue Hebdomadaire Illustrée 1875-
1907, and being Venturi's Storia Dell'arte Italiana 1901-1939.
Thanks in advance. Marilyn
