Hi ARLIS-L,
Has anyone come across any writings on high-technology teaching tools
that use knowledge filters in visual/educational aids for exhibits at
museums and/or within university-level art/art history courses?
I've searched:
ArtBibliographiesModerne
Art Index
Dissertation Abstracts
Nothing found via these databases, using the key phrase: knowledge filter
Google: using key phrase "knowledge filters"
I found a great article about SFMoMA and knowledge filters.
I am also considering posting this question to the Art Education
list, but based on my monitoring of that list that forum seems not so
research-based; it's more for educators as practitioners. Perhaps I
should also post to the museum librarians list....
I suspect that the term 'knowledge filter' may not be the only one
used to describe the technology where a visual aid, such as a cd-rom,
assists the viewer in simultaneously "seeing" the various levels of
meaning in a work of art, an art exhibit, or an ancient culture...
My purpose is to do research, gather some information and perhaps
write an article on this topic.
Thank you for considering my request.
Regards,
Mary Wolcott
