Hello all:
The Atlanta College of Art is investigating the possibilities of merging the
libraries of the ACA and the High Museum into a single art library. We have
an unusual structure that we have to cope with in that both institutions
operate under the umbrella of the Woodruff Arts Center but are also separate
entities. A merger would mean a single administration for one or more
branches of a library that serves both the college students and faculty as
well as the museum's curators and education staff.
Is there anyone out there who has gone through anything even remotely like
this? I'd love some feedback on the triumphs, problems, pitfalls,
considerations, or any other information you'd care to share, especially in
areas of budget, grant funding, administration and staffing issues, and
compatibility of collections.
Thanks in advance,
Moira
