Greetings,
The editor of the Journal of Library Administration is interested in
devoting an issue to the topic of art library administration (the issue
would be published simultaneously as a monograph.) I have been asked to
consider being the guest editor for the issue, but first, I would like to
see if anyone in ARLIS or VRA would be interested in writing an article for
the issue.
The editor mentioned a particular interest in the management of museum
libraries, as he feels there is a need for this in library literature.
Ideally, I would like to hear from all types of art librarians - academic,
public, art school, visual resource, etc. Any topic on library
administration or related subjects would be considered: staffing, training,
collection management, budgeting, the profession of art librarianship,
diversity, consortia, cataloging managment, etc. A typical issue of the
Journal of Library Administration has six articles.
If you are interested, please contact me (off list) in the next week, if
possible. I don't need an article, just an solid idea or even an abstract
will suffice. I need to submit a proposed outline for the issue by the end
of the month. There is no hard and fast timeline for this issue as of now.
Thanks in advance.
