You should take a look at Making their mark: women move into the mainstream
1970-1985 (Abbeville:1989). In addition to documenting a travelling
exhibition organized by the Cincinnati Art Museum, this catalog contains a
chapter "Career Markers" (assembled by Ferris Olin and Randy Rosen) with a
wealth of data gauging "the visibility of women artists within the
mainstream from 1970 to 1985."
