NINCH Town Meeting - coming soon to Eugene, Oregon!!
Just a quick note to alert everyone to an upcoming NINCH Town Meeting
that will take place here in Eugene on Monday, November 19. The theme
of the meeting will be "Creating Policy" and our aim is to assist people
in understanding and developing effective IP policy on several levels:
state, institutional, departmental, and personal. The program will
focus on copyright policy but it will also touch on other areas of IP
(technology transfer needs, for example). Our star speakers include
Georgia Harper
http://www.utsystem.edu/ogc/intellectualproperty/gkhbio2.htm, Lolly
Gasaway http://www.unc.edu/~unclng/gasaway.htm, and Ken Salomon of Dow,
Lohnes & Albertson, PLLC, who was one of the presenters in the
videoconference Control, Conflict and Courseware: Intellectual Property
in Online Education.
This is a full-day program (beginning at 8AM, ending at 5PM) that allows
ample time for questions and answers following the presentations, as
well as a 'workshop' format where participants will be assisted in
working out policy issues. Details will follow soon, but I wanted to
make sure that everyone who might be interested in this program has
ample time to start making plans.
Remember the date: Monday, November 19, 2001
Place: University of Oregon, Eugene, OR
Time: 8AM to 5PM
See you there!
