Jane Grau says in a 1998 review of an exhibit at Jerald Melberg Gallery "you
may find whimsey in Valerio's "Blue Still Life," although it drives me
crazy." Has anyone researched whimsey in James Valerio's work? "Luncheon on
the Rocks" (Delaware Art Museum), appears to have whimsical drawings hidden
in the rocks. It's like finding Nina's the Hirschfield drawings. Barry
Moser also concealed drawings in some of his illustrations for "Alice in
Wonderland". Any information or references would be appreciated.
