At the Hirshhorn Museum we arrange all press books by date and exhibition title. We do not weed it. We have made bibliographies of some of the press articles to save space, sending the originals to Smithsonian Institution Archives.

We have a lot of archive material in photographies,
newspaper cuttings etc., concerning activities )
inaugurations, visits, people browsing the museum, local
parties)in Museo de Arte de Lima since 1961, the year of
its foundation. This material is not classified at all.
Continuosly there is a demand from journalists that
need this material to state the history of Museo de Arte
etc. My question is: What is the best way I could have
this material at hand easily. Is a weeding worth before
archiving it?
I have classified it by years in a vertical file. But
perhaps it would preferable to classify it by building,
people, showroonms, etc.
Thanks a lot in advance...
