Greetings Colleagues in the Academic Libraries Division,
This year I've taken on the role of update column editor for our division.
The deadline for the August issue is quickly approaching, so I would like
to invite you to send me any announcements or items of interest that you
would like me to include in the next Update Column. In addition, if you
have any issues or concerns that you would like to address and feel that
ARLIS/NA Update is an appropriate place to air that concern, please let me
know.
I will be submitting columns again in October and February, so think ahead
if there's something you'd like to write about for a later edition. Feel
free also to let me know if there's something you'd like me to address or
raise as a topic of discussion. For instance, at our recent meeting we
talked about collaboration with departments/units beyond our library and
even campus walls. If there's some project with which you're involved,
please send me a brief synopsis of your experiences. I'll put them
together for one of the columns. Another area of interest, at least on my
part, is how we address the visual needs of non-art/architecture
departments on our campuses. Increasingly, we're called upon to serve
faculty in History, Literature, and Medical departments, to name just a
few. I welcome any and all ideas and look forward to hearing from you.
Please send your thoughts and ideas for the coming edition by June 4.
(I'll aim to give you a little more notice before the October deadline!)
thanks,
Rebecca
