A quick and dirty way to find examples is to do a keyword search in art
databases that let you search by title of art work, e.g.,
Artcyclopedia
http://www.artcyclopedia.com/
National Gallery of Art (Wash)
http://www.nga.gov/collection/srchart.htm
Metropolitan Museum of Art
http://www.metmuseum.org/collections/search.asp
Just type in "three" without the quotation marks and quite a few examples
come up.
