We have a new minolta and really like it. The interface is complicated,
but patrons can get a good color copy by pressing 3 buttons. It's
expensive ($10,000+) so we're leasing.
Hope this helps,

Genni, Our color copier is a Canon Color Laser Copier 700L. We lease it
from Ikon and it arrived in January of this year. Alas, it does not
have a book edge feature, but it makes very good copies. It has lots of
features, but the ones we most commonly use are reducing and enlarging.
It will handle several sizes of paper easily (we use 8.5 by 11, 11 by
14, and 14 by 17. It is pretty easy to use, and the Ikon representative
gave us some training on it. The Ikon people have installed a coin box
on it and we charge $1.00 per copy. This copier makes much better
copies than the one we had before. I would recommend it. Thanks. Anna

At the Jacksonville Public Library we've recently switched to Ikon for
both color and b & w. The color is spectacular. So far, service is
iffy.

We've had a public colour copier for years. It's more expensive, but gets
used a lot.

It has about a zillion features, including an edit pad, 2 sided copy
possibilities, a way to limit the copying to a particular part of the
image, etc. It's quite complicated.
The model is Xerox 5750

This library has, for over two years, had considerable success with a
Ricoh Aficio Color 5206. It has no book-edge feature. At times the
color accuracy is less than exact, although there is a counterintuitive
color adjustment feature. The main drawback is the touch selection
screen, which I guess is actually a tap selection screen, referred to in
the manual as the operation panel, for which an unattached and often
disappearing plastic stylus, supplied with the copier, is to be used.
Although pens and fingernails work as well, most of the patrons are
accustomed to heat-activated panels, and the panel has either cracked or
stopped working three times. I would say this is the main design flaw in
what is otherwise a reliable and much appreciated--by students, faculty,
administration and library staff--color copier.

The Adam and Sophie Gimbel Library, Parson's School of Design has a Minolta
CS910 and is quite happy with it (per Clayotn Kirking).
