After five years at the helm of Art Documentation, co-Editors Betsy Peck
Learned and Stephanie Sigala are moving on to new professional challenges
and, let us hope, other leadership opportunities with ARLIS/NA. Beginning
with volume 16, number 2 (Fall 1997), a 25 year salute of ARLIS/NA, Betsy
and Stephanie have produced a superb professional journal, well designed,
scholarly, topical, and always an informative must-read for its audience of
ARLIS/NA members and art information professionals everywhere. Behind the
scenes, they have created a comprehensive production manual, an important
step in ensuring that Art Documentation will continue to be a high quality
journal. Betsy and Stephanie's final issue will be Fall 2001.
Two new co-Editors will begin work later this year, Tom Jacoby (Art and
Design Librarian, University of Connecticut) and Kathy Zimon (Fine Arts
Librarian Emeritus, University of Calgary). Their first issue will be
Spring 2002. Both Tom and Kathy are longtime, active members of ARLIS/NA
and bring to their new posts equally impressive records of professional and
scholarly publishing as well as editing experience. Joan Stahl
(Administrator, Image Collections, National Museum of American Art) and
Eileen Markson (Head of Library, Bryn Mawr College) are continuing in their
posts of Review Editor and Copy Editor, respectively.
Please join the Executive Board in thanking Betsy and Stephanie for their
dedication to Art Documentation, and a job truly well done.
