Kari,
Individual sites can be tricky to find, but you may find artists links via
some of the sources I have listed on my very modest artist book site which
I'm building up slowly but surely
http://www.library.cmu.edu/bySubject/Art/artistsbooks.html, including some
of the sites you and Heide have mentioned.
Or just go to sites that list artists and then search them individually
over the web.
Perhaps your colleague would also want to consider artist run artist book
cooperatives, for example Women's Studio Workshop (url on my site) or
Purgatory Pie Press http://www.purgatorypiepress.com/about_us.htm.
