Open invitation to ARLIS/NA mystery readers--
Now that we have prepared ourselves for L.A. adventures
by reading all the mysteries on Susan Jurist's wonderful
website, it's time to convene to discuss them.
So, please add to your conference calendar the
Third Annual Mystery Readers' discussion group,
meeting over lunch on Tuesday, April 3. All are welcome!
Let's meet shortly before noon (say 11:50) at the hotel
registration desk. From there we will proceed at noon
to a nearby restaurant to dine and share reading
recommendations from the past year.
Agenda issues include--
1. Who/what is your favorite California mystery
author/book? (NOTE: It's not too late to consult
Susan's website.)
2. What was the BEST mystery you read last year?
3. What mystery disappointed you recently? What do
you look for from a mystery? How did this book fail?
In order to scout out restaurant possibilities before
the event, I'd like to get a rough attendance count.
So, please email me at [log in to unmask] if you
think you are likely to attend the lunch.
Again, all are welcome. Past meetings have been informal
and enjoyable, and the evidence leads me to conclude that
the L.A. session will be the best yet.
Hope to see you there!
