Well, I have to admit the "blob" discussion gives me a laugh. Brings to mind some of the wierd things I've seen. The best so far, at least according to my tech services librarian, is the book that came back from loan with the circular coils of an electric stove scorched into the cover. Had an interesting type of three-dimensionality about it, plus it smelled really really strange.
