"Do any of you maintain Product Catalogues and/or Sample Collections in
your library -- by samples I mean wallpaper, tiles, plastic, textiles,
paper, paint, etc. -- if you do, I would really appreciate further
information on where they are located, how they are maintained, how they
are used, and whether or not they circulate."

Response #6 - from an architecture librarian within a University Library
"[In 1990, when I left my previous job at another university]...Our products
area had just been moved to a separate, much larger space outside of the
library proper....We had brochures, catalogues, samples of carpeting and
fabrics. Everything was catalogued according to Masterformat. At that time,
only the brochures circulated, because it was a manual system. With the
advent of barcodes, I expect that everything circulates now for a short
period."
