Public Services Librarian (Co-Coordinator of Public Services)
The Morton R. Godine Library seeks a Public Services Librarian to join a
team leadership environment. This position manages all access services
including circulation, interlibrary loans, reserves, and facility/stacks
management. The Public Services Librarian is a co-coordinator of the
Public Services Team and as such holds secondary responsibility for
reference and bibliographic instruction and collaborates with the
Reference Librarian on the planning and implementation of all public
services. All coordinators share responsibility for library-wide
services development, collaborative decision making, problem solving,
policy/procedure writing, planning, staff training and supervision.
MassArt librarians participate in collection development and in
provision of reference services. This is a faculty, tenure-track
position.
Required qualifications for this position: MLS or equivalent, background
in the visual arts (BFA, BA in Art Education or Art History, and/or
advanced arts related degree preferred), a minimum of 1-2 years of
professional experience in key areas of responsibility. Resume review
will begin 3-8-2001. Starting date ASAP. Open until filled. Salary
commensurate with experience.
