Here at the Newark Museum we do the very same thing with off-prints that our
curators receive from their colleagues. Cataloging them as monographs,
integrating them into the card catalog and the main collection allows them
to be quickly found and easily received. Because they have particular
relevance to our curators, this seems to be the most logical way of dealing
with them. Of course, we are a small independent library so we don't have to
deal with the bibliographic concerns of a major university system.
