---COMPETITION REOPENED---
Due to a shortage of qualified applications, the Professional Development Awards Committee has decided to reopen the competition for the Chapter's Travel Award ($500) and the Membership Award ($100). Those interested in applying for the awards should submit their application by Friday, 26 January 2001. Information regarding the awards and application procedures are outlined below.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:
ARLIS/MOQ PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDS
ARLIS/MOQ is pleased to announce its Professional Development Awards for 2001:
I. TRAVEL AWARD ($500)
Purpose: to promote professional development by supporting travel to the ARLIS/NA annual conference.
Eligibility:
1. applicant must be a member of ARLIS/NA and ARLIS/MOQ
2. applicant must be unable to receive full institutional funding for travel to the conference
3. preference is given to applicants who are first-time attendees and/or who are involved in the conference program, i.e. presenting a paper, serving as moderator or recorder of a session, serving on an ARLIS/NA committee, etc.
4. the award is open to student members
5. the award may not be given in the same year to the winner of an ARLIS/NA travel award
To Apply: please send a letter of application (mail, e-mail or fax), detailing your library experience, your ARLIS experience, and any other information that you feel is relevant, to:

II. MEMBERSHIP AWARD ($100)
Purpose: to promote professional development by supporting membership in the national organization (ARLIS/NA)
Eligibility:
1. applicant must be a member of ARLIS/MOQ
2. the award is open to student members
3. preference is based on demonstrated need and/or interest and/or professional activity, including activity within the local chapter
To Apply: please send a letter of application (mail, e-mail or fax), detailing your qualifications for the award based on the above guidelines, to the Chair at the above address.
