William T. Aldrich, like his sister Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, was from Rhode
Island. You can find a brief biographical sketch on him in the book,
"Buildings on Paper; Rhode Island Architectural Drawings 1825-1945 by
William H. Jordy and Christopher P,. Monkhouse, 1982. After studying at
Brown, M.I.T. and the Ecole des-Beaux-Arts, he worked in the New York office
of Carrere & Hastings. He then began a partnership in Boston with Robert P.
Bellows (1911-1923). Other museum work includes the central section of the
Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design. Like his sister, he was a
founder and trustee of the Museum of Modern Art. The Avery Index 2000
includes references to several residences and a church designed by Bellows
and Aldrich, as well as to Aldrich's own house in Marblehead, Mass. and
Aldrich's design for the museum building at RISD (American Architect: 1928
July 5, v. 134, no. 2548, p. 1-9). This should give you some more leads.
