We are beginning a renovation project of our 1993 Renaissance Court,
designed by Boston architect William T. Aldrich. The desire is to return
the building to the original vision of the architect as laid out in
some of his sketches. The one piece we are missing is the original
architectural drawings of this architect for the Worcester Art Museum. I
have also been trying to research William T. Aldrich but found nothing in
the MACMILLAN ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ARCHITECTS and other resources in our library.
Our library has scanty material on architecture. Do any of the libraries
who specialize in architecture have any information on this man or can offer
any leads of where to go next? I have already contacted the Boston Public
Library and the Boston Architectural Center and Worcester City Hall with no
luck. It would be a windfall to actually find his original drawings but any
biographical information would also be most helpful. His firm was dissolved
in the 60's and no one seems to know what happened to any of his drawings-I
have contacted several architectural firms in Boston.
Thanks in advance for any help.
