Hello Karen:
Our teachers use Philip Meggs' A History of Graphic Design, 3rd ed. 1998.
They tend to use their own collections of slides for visuals, plus bring
books (on posters, postcards, advertisements, you name it) to class to hand
around. I audited most of the course last year and it was fun. If there are
commercially available slide sets and/or CD Roms out there, I'd be
interested in learning of them too. Most of the slide sets I'm familiar with
are exclusively fine arts related.
