Librarian. The Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe (a division of
Museum of New Mexico/Office of Cultural Affairs) is accepting applications
for Senior Level Librarian. The salary range is $28,213 to $42,320 yearly
plus benefits. This full-time position directs all aspects of the operation
for a small (15,000 + volume) specialized art history and ethnographic
library. The Librarian is responsible for acquiring and cataloguing all
research materials as well as overseeing the management of archival and
special collections such as audio tapes, photographs, written field notes,
phonograph records and other research materials collected in the field by
curators and scholars. The non-circulating library collection is an
excellent research collection that serves staff, scholars and the public
providing a wide variety of public services. The librarian is available
Tuesday through Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and by appointment at other times
to assist the public by retrieving research materials from the closed stacks
and locating items through on-line searches, inter-library loans and the
card catalog. The continual upgrade of on-line services is to be
accomplished through retrospective cataloguing of the library's collections
and the downloading of OCLC records. The librarian responds to photo
requests and oversees photo permissions and fees. The librarian trains and
supervises volunteers, may supervise and train library assistants for
special projects and identifies and hires contractors as needed. The
librarian is responsible for developing budgets and assisting with
fundraising activities. The position is posted on the Jobs Bulletin of the
